קיבוץ גבולות השוכן בחבל הבשור, עלה לקרקע ב- 12 במאי 1943 כמצפה חקלאי - הראשון משלושת המצפים בנגב. לאחר מלחמת העצמאות הועתק היישוב למקומו הנוכחי, כקילומטר צפונית מזרחית למצפה. הקיבוץ משתנה ונהנה משילוב החוויה קיבוצית בשנות ה- 2000.
